This is our barn. We actually lived in there (with our 2 boys) and ran my felting business out of it while we built our house. It motivated us to get the house built quickly.
This grange hall is at the fairgrounds where the two ticket booths are that I painted. There are a couple more buildings there that I'm thinking about doing, but haven't quite worked out the compositions. Anyway, I'm attracted to the simple white woodframe buildings. The simpler the better.
This is the coolest little building in the middle of the graveyard. I pass it several times a day and always think about painting it. It has beautiful windows that aren't emphasized in this painting, so I might have to do another one with a closer view to showcase the windows.
I'm still in search of a very small pallette knife. Either that, or I'm probably going to have to go to a larger size canvas. The knife I have is bent and ends up scraping away paint that I've just put down.
Here is the ticket booth at the other entrance to the fairgrounds. It's such a cute little building, and it's nice and clean and bright unlike the first ticket booth I painted. Again, it's done with a palette knife, which I enjoy using for many reasons. I think my paintings are more interesting , and the clean-up is a cinch. And because of the easy clean-up, it's easier for me to grab a moment for painting.
